This place misdiagnosed my boyfriend to sell him on a laser treatment. They told him a spot on his skin was just a scar, but after the “treatment” did nothing to help, he sought a real doctor who diagnosed him with skin cancer. Had this place given him a real diagnosis, rather than trying to sell him on an expensive and useless treatment, he would have caught his skin cancer earlier. After finding out he in fact had skin cancer, he called this place to inform them of their misdiagnosis and they didn’t even offer him a reimbursement or any sort of compensation.

Do NOT go here. I went in for a red mark on my face and the doctor assured me it was something they could easily zap off with lasers and turns out they completely misdiagnosed me and it was actually skin cancer. This cost me months of missing what could’ve been the proper treatment. Instead they sold me on micro needling!! Horrible. And then I told them they misdiagnosed me they just said “sorry.”

Called and made an appointment. Upon arrival at the Beverly Hills location, absolutely no parking (not the offices issue but just note if you plan on going). The service I got was good, little advice and no aftercare instructions. I’ve had the service elsewhere so I know the treatment, yet the price is off the charts even for LA. I paid for the gift certificate at a charity auction but when paying for PicoSure in LA the price is 1/2 they are quoting for the same area for Pico Genesis (older laser, less strong). Frankly while I liked my nurse, I won’t be back here as pricing is off, parking is non existent at certain times and the check in staff and amenities is eh to say the best. So shop around if you want treams in the area

This office and especially Monica saved my day! A previous medspa botched up my cheek fillers. They brushed me off and told me I was overreacting when I told them my cheeks looked lopsided (and like chipmunks). I desperately looked for someone to repair the problem and I was so thankful to have found Monica. Thankfully this office squeezed me in a last-min appt the same day! (I had a flight the next day for the holidays and so I was desperate to get it fixed before relatives/ friends saw me). Monica saw the problem right away and so I knew I wasn't overreacting. She quickly dissolved the excess filler and I felt/ looked "normal" again :D Monica has such a kind, friendly demeanor and I never felt rushed during the whole procedure. Thank you Monica! You're the best!

The most non transparent pricing — based on my personal experience I think they have a minimum they will charge you but will charge you more if they think they can get away with it. There are no prices listed for services and they will not give you the prices even if you ask for them. For example, I asked for the pricing for laser hair removal and they said i had to come in for a consultation with the laser hair removal tech (Linda?) and then would be given a price. Okay….I went in for the consultation and was told $250 to do a bikini touch up (I’d had laser several years ago already but there was some re-growth). I found out later (too late!) that my friend also went to them for laser hair removal and he was charged a different price every visit and ended up paying $1000-3000 every time with NO RESULTS. He just thought that was how it worked :( I also think the laser hair removal tech has a scam going with one of the nurses. She’ll notice something “of concern” (a mole, a bump etc) and ask if you want a nurse to take a quick peek. You then get billed for a nurse visit. I highly suggest avoiding Ava MD — can’t speak for the dermatology side, but the aesthetic side is too shady given the options we have in LA.

Monica Masterson is an incredibly talented provider. She has helped me look my best, while never allowing me to look like I have had anything done. She is also patient, kind, and incredibly knowledgable. I have been to several providers across Los Angeles, and I trust Monica implicitly. There have been times in which I want more of a particular product, and Monica has told me no, and I can never thank her enough for this. She always puts the patient and what is best for the individual first, and I am so grateful for her. Cosmetic procedures can be addicting, it is so important to have someone you trust who will tell you honestly what is best for your face. She has instead gotten me on a regime that keeps me looking my best. Monica is also the first provider to get me to care abut sunscreen (I know I know). But now Im fanatical and I can really thank her for helping me in the long term!
