Had a consult here awhile ago. Was super weird; to me at least but definitely not the worst one I had. Honestly, none of the consults in the area were great. Felt like I was pulling teeth trying to get any info whatsoever during my consult. At a consult I generally expect the doc to take the lead examining my hairline - for a transplant - and say here's what's possible, the process is X, timeline is Y, we don't do Z and here's why, etc, etc It was more me continuously trying to extract answers and questions out until I just got fed up and called it a wrap and let it fizzle out. The doc made a comment along the lines of me not seeming like I'm interested. Correct - that's what happens when you don't inspire or distill confidence in prospective patients Regarding pricing fees and booking it was stated this would be sent via email. I had to follow up on this myself after radio silence. Instead of receiving any pricing or other relevant info the coordinator or whoever answers the emails stated they "coordinated" with Dr. Pak and he didn't want to provide pricing etc as he didn't want to move forward with a transplant which was ridiculous as I was going out on a limb even still considering it given the really bad consult / vibes To be clear, I'm a Norwood 2 - approaching 3 - with a strong donor and on meds. There was zero medical restrictions or otherwise for this. The only doctor out of a dozen I consulted that did this and the a few of the others I consulted are very conservative doctors. It was just a super weird flaky consult with someone I did not vibe with at all in the slightest. The only good part - trying to be fair and give some upside here - is I can say that he didn't have the general slimy salesman pitch you would get at Bosley or some other hair mill. So there's that at least. Ethics aren't exactly high in many transplant clinics so I will give that a big thumbs up to be fair. There was a comment made about finasteride / medication for hair loss that stood out to me during consult that I found to be surprising - in that it seemed very off base and contrary to anything I've ever heard another transplant doc state. We briefly touched on meds and Dr Pak said something to the effect of Finasteride doesn't work for frontal hair loss only the crown. I assumed he was attempting to state it doesn't completely halt hair loss but works to slow it down etc which is largely true but that's my *interpretation of what was said* attempting to give the most credence possible as again that consult was not particularly good with high levels of clarity or detail Most of the before and afters I saw in the photo book looked really weird and off to me too. The eyebrows in particular were super unnatural and overly bushy as you can see on the example of the African American man that is generally posted. Hairlines looked a bit off to me as well. Maybe there are better results elsewhere from the ratings Dr Pak has but I personally didn't see any of it or particularly get the impression it would turn out good I ended up booking abroad after spending about six months consulting docs across US and being disappointed at lackluster consults, price gouging, paired with what was generally poorer or on par results with what could be achieved non domestically Which I personally find funny because I spent ages consulting docs here trying to be conservative and take the "good" approach and ended up full circle. I used to think it was incredibly stupid when people would just say save the cash and go abroad. But, yeah, no they were generally right as long as you do your due diligence. Few thousand in consult fees later I found that out which ironically would have paid for a transplant abroad in its entirety.

Great people, but the procedure outcome was extremely disappointing. Not worth the investment

Couldn't be happier, Dr Pak and his team were awesome, facilities were nice, it was reasonably priced, and most importantly the results exceeded my expectations. I had a scar in my scalp that was preventing me from parting my hair the way I wanted, and Dr Pak filled it in - you definitely can't tell anything was ever there. Obviously this part is going to vary on the individual, but it also grew in way way faster than they estimated it would. I'm quite picky with cosmetic services, and would absolutely choose him again. Thanks Dr Pak!

I recently underwent a hair transplant with Dr. Pak, and the entire experience was fantastic. Unlike most doctors, he was punctual and ready for my arrival. The entire staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. It was a pleasure meeting Dr. Pak and the entire team.

Why am I so unhappy? Because there is a distinct bald spot as big as a thumb pad right in the middle front of my forehead. This is the PRECISE SPOT I was concerned about in the first place. This precise spot looks as though it DID NOT receive ANY GRAFTS. It’s very noticeable to me, and it bugs me so much, ESPECIALLY since that was THE PRECISE area I was concerned about. Go to REAL SELF or YELP TO read my very detailed and truthful review that I couldn't fit in this space.

Stay away! untruthful business, you paid them so much money and they get such a poor results, the real Dr only show up in the morning but doesn't actually executing the surgery and also they don't put you the a mount of graphs you actually paid for!!!

Both the beard and hair FUE work Dr. Pak did for me had very obvious issues including crooked placement, sloppy execution, and utterly bizarre style/density choices. The beard work was the most frustrating for me by far though. I asked him to fill in some asymmetric patches subtly but what he actually did was sloppily graft two crooked rectangles (with one an inch higher than the other for some reason) on either side of my goatee. Not only he did he somehow manage to miss empty spots where beard hair actually should've been added, but he also added hair in absolutely ridiculous areas where none was wanted at all. To top it all off, he had the brilliant idea of harvesting beard hair from the front facing portion of my goatee and so he took a chunk of hairs out of a very visible part of the front of my beard. I was so upset by his work that even while still at the surgery center, I insisted that he at least replace the grafts back into the chunk of beard hair he took out of my goatee and remove some of the transplanted hairs that were crookedly placed almost an inch higher on one side for some reason. The work was so disappointing that I plan to use electrolysis in the future to undo as many of these mistakes as I can. Andrea seemed very kind at first but the moment I tried expressing concern about the procedure her attitude changed drastically. I suddenly was treated like a huge inconvenience and at one point was hung up on because she had to "prepare for a football game party". After that incident, I received no follow-up whatsoever from her for well over a month until I reached out first again, at which point I eventually received a similar patronizing and passive aggressive attitude. It was after many repeated attempts to discuss my concerns that I left an initial review elsewhere, at which point all Dr. Pak and Andrea seemed to care about was that review. When I also mentioned that I'd gotten outside opinions of their work from other doctors, they seemed obsessed with finding out who those doctors were and I got the very strong impression that their intention was to confront them for daring to review the "artistry" of Dr. Pak. I spoke with Dr. Pak (while Andrea secretly listened, which she admitted to me later) and he'd get very defensive if I even implied he made any sort of mistake. The discussion also constantly came back to him trying to suss out which doctors I'd spoken to. So now I've spent an enormous amount of money, irreplaceable hair follicles, and the opportunity of going to someone who would actually be able to deliver what I'd wanted in exchange for these results and plenty of FUE scarring. If they seemed sincere or self-reflective maybe I'd be able to forgive some of this more easily but unfortunately it seems they've learned absolutely nothing from this experience. Update: I declined an offer of money by Andrea made to take down my review if I also signed an outrageous settlement agreement which would've made me liable for even verbally expressing dissatisfaction with Dr. Pak's work and also had a massive financial penalty (plus interest LOL). Not only would the money offered not even cover half of what I paid for this extremely disappointing work, spent hair follicles, and scarring but they also took no responsibility for any of the mistakes I was concerned about, seemed to learn absolutely nothing from all of this, and were just as arrogant and condescending as ever.
