Fairly underwhelmed with my post-appointment experience with this office. I had my first appointment a few weeks ago. The facilities are great and Dr. Stovall was very friendly and knowledgeable. After my appointment, I paid my co-pay and went on my way. A few weeks later, I received a bill for an additional amount. When I called the billing office, I was met with a fair condescending employee. I asked why I was not given an estimate for the amount it would cost me with my insurance. I was told that I ‘didn’t ask’ and that is why I didn’t receive a quote. I asked why all patients are not given an estimate before their appointments if they have a contracted rate with specific insurances and I was told ‘that would take too much time and we wouldn’t be able to see any patients’ (even though I was informed that they used to do this). To me, a print out with the estimated contracted rate each insurance has negotiated is a pretty quick computer function and prevents patients being upset, but apparently this office prioritizes high productivity over making patients happy. While I wouldn’t necessarily not recommend this office, I would HIGHLY recommend you call your insurance AND the office to ask for estimates on contracted rates before you go, or risk being surprised with an additional bill.
