I had my first hair transplant 19 years back with a doctor who has since retired. I did not lose the transplanted follicles but progressively lost a good bit of hair around (reducing density) and acres behind it. As I was contemplating another transplant, my brother who had his transplant done (hair loss runs in the family, what can I say) in late 2023, recommended Dr. Wetzel. In parallel, my hair stylist said I should take a trip to Turkey, get a nice hair transplant for a song and save myself a bunch of money. Raging wars in that region and unknown medical malpractice laws were a buzz kill, not to mention getting medical advice from a hairstylist is not necessarily a bright idea. I had made up my mind (1) to get it done locally (Atlanta GA) and (2) to consider at least 2 practices. My first call to Dr. Wetzel changed my opinion on shopping around. It felt like talking to friend who would take good care of me rather than a clinical conversation around a medical procedure. My subsequent in-person meeting cemented that feeling and I decided to go with Dr. Wetzel. From the time I decided, the process of scheduling the surgery, pre-op instructions, the actual surgery itself and post op support has been a peach with Dr. Wetzel and his staff. Their office in Atlanta is homey and not over the top flashy like some practices that do cosmetic procedures. The surgery itself was a very smooth affair, and the only discomfort was sleeping in an upright position the first four days after surgery. Tylenol every 6 hours became my best friend for close to a week and I did bug Dr. Wetzel at random times both during the week and the first weekend with mundane questions like; day 3 – my head slipped from the neck pillow without my knowledge, and I was resting on couch headrest when I woke up, are my grafts toast? Instead of telling his nurse to call me and calm me down, he called me back right away personally and responded to my unfounded fears like a concerned friend. In summary, the FUE technique followed by most hair transplant surgeons is similar and so is the cost for the most part. Likewise, the results are also not going to be dramatically different from one another. Being treated like a friend / family rather than patient # xyz was important to me and that is exactly how Dr. Wetzel and his staff made me feel. I highly recommend Dr. Wetzel for your hair transplant needs. You are not just in good hands, you are in great hands, with him. All the best.

I had a great experience with Dr. Wetzel and his team. The surgery procedure was fully explained to me during my initial consultation with Matt and Dr. Wetzel. Dr. Wetzel explained all and said I was a great candidate for the surgery. The surgery itself was scheduled for 3 weeks later. I arrived at 7 AM as instructed, and we got started at 8 AM. Dr. Wetzel explained what to expect for the day. All was explained in detail. We talked about what he was going to do and also the hairline, which was very important to me. He listened to what I wanted to make sure to design the transplant for that result, a natural-looking remedy to my thinning hair. The procedure took about a total of 8 hours. During the surgery, I was not in any pain at all, and did not experience much pain the following day. His nurses took really good care of me, and I watched TV the entire time while under a mild sedation. After the surgery, I went home and relaxed and began to recover. The downtime was nice, and the recovery was not that bad. It took about 2 weeks till I got back to 100%. After two weeks, I went back into his office to have my stitches removed and for a check-up up where he said I was progressing nicely. I am excited about the results. I would definitely recommend Dr. Wetzel and Anderson Hair for this surgery. His advice and guidance during the process were very helpful. I feel like he has given me back my hair from when I was younger, and I am excited to see the continued results.

I have to say that my overall experience went very well with Dr Wetzel. He is polite and very knowledgeable the staff was also very kind and friendly. Before my procedure and the weeks leading up to it I was given informative information on what to do before my procedure. On the day of my procedure it was very relaxing and comfortable. Before all of the work began I was given medicine to stay nice and calm my procedure lasted about 9 hours but it honestly felt like I was only there for about an hour and a half. It was completely pain-free which I'm very happy because that was one of my concerns. After the procedure I was given informative directions on what to do and how to care for my donor area. Two days after the transplant is when I felt mild discomfort but they prescribed me medicine that helps with the pain which isnt bad at all if i had to rate the pain for after the operation i would give a 3.5 out of 10. A few days after my procedure the surgical team reached out to see how I was doing which was very nice and gladly answered any questions and concerns that I had. For my fut procedure I had nearly 3,000 graphs done and it looks wounderful a few weeks after my transplant I experienced shock loss but the surgical team explained to me that it's completely normal for the hair to shed and then start regrowing. I'm absolutely thrilled on how natural and good my new hairline looks. If you want great looking hair at a very affordable price way better than the other competitors especially Bosley then I highly suggest that you go see Dr Wetzel.

I recently had a hair restoration procedure at Anderson Hair Center, and I could not be more pleased with the experience and the results so far. Before the procedure, I was honestly very worried about the pain. However, it turns out that pain was not an issue at all. During the procedure, I was completely comfortable, and afterward, I went home, slept soundly, and woke up the next day without any significant discomfort. I didn’t even need to take any pain medication, which was a huge relief. The entire staff at Anderson Hair Center was extremely professional from start to finish. Dr. Wetzel performed my procedure, and I felt very confident knowing that he is a trained neurosurgeon. His background gave me great peace of mind, and his skill and attention to detail were clear throughout the process. The nurse who later removed my sutures was equally impressive — she was kind, patient, and very careful, making sure not to cause any pain during the removal. As for the results, I’m very happy. The number of grafts and the density achieved exceeded my expectations, and the overall look is incredibly natural. It already looks better than I hoped at this stage. The most challenging part of the recovery was having to sleep sitting up for the first few nights after surgery, but that’s a minor inconvenience compared to the outcome. I had a great experience with Dr. Wetzel and Anderson Hair. It started with the free consultation that was not a high-pressure environment. They took the time to examine and offer personalized options for me to consider. Nelson went over various options from medications, laser, to surgical. We were able to discuss those options and reasonable expectations. I left the consultation with a lot more knowledge and a price quote to make the decision. They provided great follow up after the visit as well when I had further questions. They always responded quickly and thoroughly. Once I decided to move forward with some of those options including FUE, they were able to schedule me within my requested time frame. The instructions prior to the surgery were clear and concise. I had no trouble following the prep. I stayed the night before in a hotel nearby as I was coming in from another state. This made it very easy in the morning. They were on time and waiting for me upon arrival. The day went very smooth and just as described. I was onsite all day with primarily extraction in the morning and placement in the afternoon. Any time I felt discomfort, they quickly addressed and I was good. Post op, my recovery was just as they described it would be, no real surprises. Their guidance and care documents were clear. I also had post op questions to which they continued to answer very promptly and were always available. I had very minor pain. If anything, just discomfort trying to sleep and being itchy. Overall, the experience was better than expected and I will remain a client of Anderson Hair and Dr. Wetzel.
