I've gone too Mia twice and have had bad experiences. She's very condescending and the way she talks about client's hair is humiliating. She repeatedly tells you how bad your hair is without the slightest bit of compassion nor interest in helping you restore it. (Which I later found to be a lie after going to a better and more knowledgeable stylist.) While washing and rinsing my hair, she had water running all down my back to the point where I had a huge wet spot on the seat of my pants when I got up. Also I understand using cool water to seal your cuticles, however, she purposely used ICE COLD water and refused to make it any warmer when I told her I was uncomfortable and asked. There's no attempt to be gentle, and she doesn't care if she rips your hair while detangling. I felt regretful every time I sat in her chair and heard her snap strands of my hair off. I always noticed a significance amount of hair on the ground as she did my hair, claiming it was "just shedding," but whenever I detangled, washed, and dried my hair at home, the amount of hair actually shed was small and could fit into the palm of my hand. I always had noticeably thinner hair after letting these people mishandle it. There's a noticeable energy of jealousy and judgement in this salon too, it stuck with me the one time she said "...my hair is just as long as yours." while her flat & lifeless hair sat at her shoulders and mine hung near the middle of my back. (Never let someone do your hair if their own looks a mess, it's a red flag everytime.) She claims to be adamant about "health over length," but has no problem damaging your hair, blaming you, and then using it as an excuse to try and cut several inches off of what was before coming to her, perfectly good hair. On top of it all, they talk shit about their clients and overcharge for basic services. Save yourself the grief and stress, please book somewhere else.

Ms. Bydia is everything I could wish for in a stylist; attentive, knowledgeable and polite. I am a natural with thinning hair. I no longer want to wear braids or wigs. I needed a professional style that I could maintain, so I decided to get a cut. I got a bob with a feathered back. I have received several compliments on the way the back of my hair falls. It is a perfect cut. I like to workout and I was concerned about my hair getting puffy from sweating. It did not revert. It is still straight 2 weeks later...I know it's time for a wash. Katrina is absolutely amazing! She’s been doing a great job with my 14yr old son—she’s incredibly flexible, patient, and understanding. We really appreciate how easy she is to talk to, and she always makes sure my son feels comfortable. Her customer service is top-notch, and she brings such a positive energy every time. We trust her completely, and her work always turns out great. Highly recommend Katrina!
