I just had my second hair transplant with Dr. Mark Tam - this time for the crown area - and once again, I couldn’t be happier with the experience. My first procedure back in 2021 was for the hairline and the results were brilliant. It was completely pain-free and really exceeded my expectations, so I had no hesitation in returning to Dr. Tam for this second procedure. From start to finish, the care and attention from Dr. Tam and his team were outstanding. Everyone made me feel at ease the entire time. The planning was meticulous, and every detail was thoughtfully handled - even down to lunch being ordered and presented by the team, which was a really nice touch. The actual procedure was incredibly smooth. It was totally painless and never felt rushed. Dr. Tam takes his time to make sure everything is done properly, and it really shows in how relaxed and confident I felt throughout the day. His team were amazing - so professional, kind, and focused, even though it was a long day for everyone. What really stood out to me is the aftercare. Dr. Tam personally checked in with me the very next morning, which says a lot about how much he cares about his patients. One of the biggest reasons I chose Dr. Mark Tam was because he doesn't tell you what you want to hear either, he tells you the truthful answer which when designing, planning and carrying out such a personal cosmetic - is vital in my opinion. I honestly can’t recommend Dr. Tam and his team enough. They go above and beyond in every way, and the whole experience—from the people to the procedure—was absolutely top class.

I was left with an uneven and disfigured hairline. When I met with Dr. Tam to discuss this, he asked his administrative assistant to join him in examining my hairline. She became part of the medical examination. They both tried to tell me there was no problem with my hair. Eventually he admitted there was a large gap in my hairline. He offered to fix it but refused to accommodate me at a time that worked for me and there was no flexibilty with this. And to be honest, I am not sure I would let him near my hair again. Every day I look in the mirror at my unnatural and disfigured hair and I wish I had used a better surgeon. The fact that Dr Tam has replied and commented on all other posts but has ignored my review, says a lot. It takes a lot to leave a review like this online, about something that is very personal, so you can be sure that I am not the only one who has been left with a disfugured hairline.

From the initial consultation, he inspired confidence in me with his thorough approach, meticulous measurements, and clear explanations. Simply WOW. Where to start...I am a very cautious person and like to do my research and wanted a hair restoration specialist to carry out my surgery rather than opting for a clinic where I would be treated as number. Nevertheless, I did visit two well-known London hair clinics for due diligence, and I was not impressed with either. Pretty much a "receptionist" was giving advice about my hair treatment and only after pushing was I presented with two hair loss specialists with completely opposing plans. By comparison, with Dr Tam from the day I submitted photos and details for Pre-Assessment, I received in return an initial plan with comprehensive details, expectations and estimated costs. Dr Mark Tam is really worth the investment in restoring your image and hairline or adding hair density. He is always on call throughout the process from consultations, pre-procedure, to the night before surgery to prepare the area, surgery day and multiple check ins along the way. The aftercare is second to none, and I am a rather anxious person so for me to be calmed on a regular and timely basis is very refreshing. Having had my first transplant in June 2024 for the front hairline and density, I have subsequently had my second transplant on the mid/crown area in March 2025 based on the fantastic natural looking results. Dr Tam spends a lot of time ensuring the hairline remains natural looking and guides you not to go OTT and over harvesting the donor area. With that said, for my second surgery, preserving the donor area and ensuring perfect coverage on the crown area was a meticulous task that took from 6am till late and at no point was Dr Tam or the team anxious to leave until the surgery was completed to the highest standard, even saving the last remaining grafts for final touch ups. I couldn't be happier or more impressed to recommend Dr Tam, who I suspect is probably the best Hair Transplant Surgeon and his global awards are an additional testament to that

I would highly recommend Dr Tam and his team. The end-to-end experience was extremely professional and both the procedure & recovery to date have been painless. Dr Tam is very thorough and scientific in his approach - we met several times to align on the procedure, which gave me great confidence that he was taking a real interest in achieving my desired outcome. I was nervous about the procedure itself, but Dr Tam did everything possible to make the experience a pleasant one. He and the team are very accommodating and make an effort to ensure you're comfortable at all times. The procedure was so comfortable that I actually watched a football match during the afternoon session! I'd also add that Dr Tam goes the extra mile to ensure patients have a positive experience (e.g chauffeur-driven ride home post-procedure) and was a pleasure to deal with at every stage of my hair transplant journey.
