Its been about 3 weeks since my wife and I came to Jean's wig shop. I have to say that my wife after 16 chemotherapy sessions really needed something good in her life. Janet was wonderful to deal with. after my wife tried a wig on I sent a picture to my kids, her sister, and her hairdresser. LOLOL the hairdresser said "stop...that's perfect...don't try another one on...it looks just like your hair." well that was it. the place was clean, clean, clean. easy parking. Janet really has over 1,000 wigs there and more come in every day. We were lucky and left with the wig, AND MY WIFE HAD A BIG SMILE ON HER FACE AS WE LEFT.

Called for Appt on Friday- called back on Wed so not quick customer service. I have been to the shop prior and brought a friend who bought a topper. Needed to get bangs cut on wigs that my daughter bought me. Recent cancer scare….Said she had a cancellation at 2:30- told her in Friday VM and again when she called Wed that I needed Bangs cut. I traveled across town to be there at 2:30pm- very minimal parking so had to park across busy Atlantic Blvd. So when I got inside her shop she asked what I had and when I told her for the 3rd time- bangs she then asked if I bought the wigs there I told her no. Janet then went off on me and and said I was taking a potential clients time- what? I AM a potential client today and in the future. I would have paid her of course $60+ (like I did with another). I left and told her I would not do business with her ever and I don’t recommend her to anyone- go somewhere professional. Can you imagine if I was on chemo and had that experience?? Wow!
Hi Kathleen, thank you for your feedback. The first voice mail message I received from you was Wednesday morning when I returned to my shop. I listened to your message and what you said was you had a question about bangs on a hair piece. I promptly returned your call. I received your voice mail. You called me back later in the day and when I told you I had a cancellation you gladly accepted it. You never said to me what your intention was for this appointment. You showed up and proceeded to put hair pieces in front of me and started telling me what you wanted me to do for you. I asked were these purchased from my shop. You said no. I said I do not cut or service merchandise not purchased from my shop. (This is stated on my website under frequently asked questions) you immediately got angry, used profanity. Not just once. Used the “F” word to start and called me a “B****” no less than four more times. I run my business the way I do so I can cater to clients that need help with the selection of their hairpiece/wig and any customizing involved. My clients appreciate the one on one personal attention they get from me. I am blessed that I have my business to be in the position to help women, some in the scariest time of their life. Due to fine thin hair, which is only been getting worse with age, I have been toying with the idea of getting a wig for years. And then I broke my arm! You cannot style your hair with one arm, so I made an appointment with Judy and came in to try on wigs. The whole experience was outstanding! I came away with a wig that makes me feel great. If you just lost your hair and / or this is a new experience for you. Please research EVERYTHING first. While they are nice & claim to help you through the process, they won’t feel bad about selling you a $2k wig in your state of vulnerability, knowing it’s not the right size for you, cap construction for you, etc. At least get your measurements for what they charge for a consult. I didn’t even get that.
Hi Diana, I am sorry you were unhappy with your experience working with me. I work with a lot of women dealing with hair loss due to chemotherapy and or other medical conditions. I have always done my best to help find the best solution for my client. I explain the difference between synthetic, a blend of synthetic and natural hair, and 100% natural hair. I explain the pros and cons for all of those products. I do take a measurement on every single new client to give me an idea of the size wig we should be trying. There is no consult fee when you make your purchase. Only if you come for help and do not make a purchase. I do not take advantage of my clients when they come to me for help. I have never encouraged a client to purchase a wig one way or another just for a sale. A statement like that is hurtful. Sometimes a wig needs to be adjusted after the purchase and I am always happy to help with that. Feel free to call my shop with any other concerns. Thank you, Janet

My mom and I had a great experience with Janet at the shop. She was attentive, patient and very knowledgeable. My mom has been dealing with cancer for over a year, and her hair has fallen since her last chemotherapy sessions. She was feeling very sad and low confidence before she goes to Jean’s Wig Shop. We drove a long ways to get there but it was definitely worth it! The shop was reserved just for us so her attention was dedicated to my mom’s needs. I definitely recommend this place!
